How to register:
The fee is $200.00 payable by check or money order to Kathleen King two weeks before the course begins. (Local courses)
(Long distance courses Fee is $225.00-$350.00 this depends on Kathy's travel costs)

What to bring to the workshop:A foam pad or "Therm-a-rest-type mat, lap desk to take notes, 2 pillows

Information covered in workshop:
This is the official ICEA Professional Childbirth Educator Workshop, it is 18 hours in length, typically taught in two days, this is negotiable. Topics covered are: Family centered maternity care, normal changes both physically and emotionally for couples in pregnancy, the process of labor, second stage labor options, normal and uncommon variations in labor, including cesarean birth, vaginal birth after cesarean, teaching styles and techniques for adult learners, healthy lifestyle changes for the pregnant woman, women's health issues, teaching life skills, cirriculum development, newborn characteristics, postpartum physical and emotional challenges, breastfeeding, teaching risk versus benefits and comfort measures, breathing techniques, relaxation and position for labor and birth, process of becoming a certified ICEA educator.
